Promoting your website is what keeps it alive. Who wants to work on a website when no on visits it? And how can you make money from advertising on that site if there’s no one there to see the ads?

My friend Amanda and I decided to create a mailing list for people who use the same site promotion methods we do. The purpose behind this mailing list is to let others know you’re looking for comments, Stumble, Digg, and Sk*rt. No one is required to do any of this, but it’s about helping eachother and making new friends.

The list is set up with Yahoo! Groups for a specific reason. We chose this because of the ‘daily digest’ option, so you can get them all in one email if you prefer. This isn’t how I prefer to do it, but I know some who do. And I know some people don’t want to sign up with Yahoo! just to join the list, so simply comment here and request and invitation, I will add you to the list without needing to join Yahoo!.

I just finished drawing a new layout that I’m going to offer here on Radkitten. I plan to offer it both as a layout and as a Wordpress theme. Because I plan to offer it as a Wordpress theme, I thought coding it in CSS/divs may be a better solution, but it would be extremely time consuming considering I don’t know them well enough yet.

I did a search on Google to see if tables were still acceptable for layouts. It didn’t take me long to find many sites on the argument, most of which stated the obvious: “Tables offer precision that divs cannot.” I considered also making the layout usable on XMB, in which case tables would definitely be necessary. And I thought back to that layout my friend needed help with for MTV and they had requested it be done in tables.

So I decided, in the end, I would code the layout in tables. Not only that, I would continue to use CSS as I always had for text formatting and colors. I think it’s the best way to go for now. When I get more into Wordpress I may feel it needs to be recoded, but for the main layout that will be released in the next day or so, it will be tables.
