Ingredients:

2 cans Pink Salmon
14-18 Ritz Crackers
1/4 cup Egg Beaters
1 Tbsp Plain Low Fat Yogurt (optional)
Pam or Non Stick Spray

Tools:

Large Skillet
Spatula
Medium Mixing Bowl
Quart Size Ziploc Bag
Rolling Pin

Preparation:

Put Ritz Crackers into plastic bag and seal. Use rolling pin (or something heavy) to crush crackers into crumbs. Set aside. Open salmon and separate skin and bones. Crush up salmon and put into mixing bowl. On top of the salmon add the crumbs, the egg beaters, and yogurt (optional). If you have preferred spices, add them now. Mix together with your hands. The mix should be sticky enough to stay together when pushed into patties. Push mix into patty shaped (probably 6) and place on a plate.

Cook:

Spray skillet with non-stick spray and set to medium. Once the spray starts to look like a liquid, you’re ready to add the patties. The first side should take about 5 minutes to cook and the second side about 3 minutes. Outside of patties should be golden brown. Don’t let them get to dark or they’ll be dry.

Summary:

These salmon patties should be a very simple, low fat, kid friendly main course. If cooked right, they’ll nearly melt in your mouth. They’re surprisingly filling, so plan 1 patty per kid and 2 patties per adult. My favorite side to go with them is Pasta Roni White Cheddar Shells. The photo shows them with Green Giant Steamers.

An important part of your online presence is choosing a webhost. If you haven’t already been around the block, you’re probably posting on forums and asking friends who they’ve gone with. Doing this is probably going to get you a large list of cheap hosting companies that may or may not be quality. Can you go by what 1 person says to pick a company? Probably not. And it’s probably not likely that everyone is going to suggest the same company. What you need is a reliable resource with reviews and ratings of the web hosting companies so you can decide which will fit you best.

One such choice for this it Web Hosting Choice, a directory of hosting companies rated by the site’s developers based on the information found on those websites. Basically, it condenses everything you should be looking for when you visit a host’s website and sets it up there for you, along with their own rating scale. But keep in mind that just because this site is here and they have a review, that does not mean that this site is not owned by one of the hosting companies (say the one ranked #1) or isn’t being paid by those hosting companies to be ranked so high. Do you research, but definitely put this site on your list of places to look.

I’ve just submit my own hosting company to this list in hopes of being accepted.

Michael’s room is finally finished! It only took me 6 days. But to my credit, I also finished Corey’s room in that time.

Basically I just ripped everything out that wasn’t glued or that could fit through the door. The reason Corey’s bed is still in Michael’s room is because if we take it apart, it won’t go back together. So now Michael has an extra bed, but that’s okay because he has friends sleep over from time to time. But with the second bed, we were having a hard time putting all the other furniture in the room. I ended up removing a dresser to fit everything else back in. I was looking up some shelves on Amazon, but never ended up getting them. Glad I didn’t,  because it would’ve been a waste of $40.

There was a lot of stuff I didn’t put back in there that is either in the garbage or in the garage. I’ll go through the stuff in the garage later, but I’m pretty confident it’s all garbage anyway. I’m really proud to have finished this, but I’m too embarrassed to show you what it looked like before, sorry! If you’re bored, here’s a video I made to show Anna how I finally ended up arranging the room. It’s cute.

I got a new camera today to replace my old one that Jay took to work and lost. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot with a touch screen. I got it so I’d have a camera I can just slide in my pocket and pull out at any opportune time. It was my favorite camera and I took it with me to all the Three Days Grace shows, so it really meant a lot.

So my new camera, the Nikon Coolpix S230 is the only one I could find that also had the touch screen.  Best Buy only sold the purple one, and I wanted blue, so I had to buy it online. After shipping and the 4GB SD card, the total came out to $244. That’s a bit more than my Cybershot cost 2-3 years ago. So it comes, I put it together, and start taking some pictures. The screen looks really grainy, but fortunately that doesn’t show on most of the pictures. It does show in the videos, though. We’re still fiddling with the settings, but so far I’m not impressed with this camera. Sony had a better camera for the same price 3 years ago.

Features (according to Nikon):

  • 3 inch LCD Touch Screen
  • 10 Megapixels
  • 3x Zoom Nikkor Lens
  • Electronic VR Stabilization
  • Motion Detection
  • Touch Subject to lock Auto Focus and Exposure
  • Portait One Touch Zoom
  • Paint Function w/Stylus
  • Scene Auto Selector
  • Smart Portrait System

I would recommend this camera to someone looking for a quick camera for random family photos. It’s very good for still shots, but if your subject moves (like my dog) it’s going to delay the camera in shooting and have a crazy blurry shot. However, I don’t feel like I’ve reached the full potential of the camera yet, so I’ll keep working with it and let you know.

It’s very light weight and very small. It’s shorter than my cell phone, and just slightly wider.

In the past my page rank on this domain has been as high as 4, which wasn’t extremely high at the time, but has become pretty hard to obtain lately. Now I’m back down to a page rank of 0. But since I’m rebuilding the site I want to keep an eye on my rank conveniently. There are a couple of ways I’ve found to do that.

1. Google has a Google Toolbar that allows you to see the page rank of any site you’re visiting. The only problem with this is that you must use Internet Explorer or Firefox to see the ranking. As of lately I have been gravitating more toward Google Chrome because it’s a bit faster. Just go to the site in your preferred browser and it will give you the correct page for your toolbar.

2. There are 3rd party websites out there that will check your page rank and display it for you. Most of these sites require that you go to them and put in your URL, then they will give you your page rank and possibly even more information, like how many backlinks your site has. The site I’ve picked shows you your page rank, then gives you a button to paste onto your website. I put mine up and now all I have to do to see my page rank is scroll to the bottom. Once I actually have some page rank, I’ll put it above the fold.

3. Google will tell you. They have free webmaster tools to help you make the best of your site, but will also show you the page rank of all the pages on your site. This will help you in determining a few things, but is most important for deciding how much you should charge for advertising on each of those pages. A page with PR 8 will be worth a lot more than a page with PR4, but the PR4 is still worth quite a bit. Every page has a different ranking. This is a great tool to use once a month to keep tabs on your site.
